ECDL
The internationally recognised ECDL qualification is available either via ECDL Essentials and Extra or as a seven unit, single qualification.
ECDL Essentials - Level 1
ECDL Essentials is a Level 1 ITQ Award and consists of 3 units.
Units & Syllabuses: Unit 1: IT Security for Users, Unit 2: Using the Computer and Managing Files / IT User Fundamentals, Unit 7: Web Browsing and Communication/ Using the Internet & Email
ECDL Extra - Level 2
ECDL Extra is a Level 2 ITQ Certificate and consists of 4 units.
Units & Syllabuses: Unit 3: Word Processing, Unit 4: Spreadsheets, Unit 6: Presentation, Improving Productivity Using IT - The Improving Productivity Using IT unit is a standalone unit and therefore cannot presume which of the IT User units a learner may have taken previously. Assignments / scenarios have been created for each of the following common software applications Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Presentations. Therefore a syllabus guide can not been devised for this unit.
ECDL - Seven Unit Single Qualification - Level 2
The seven Unit ECDL maps to the international ECDL syllabus with the exception of Module 1 which has been designed to meet UK standards. Units & Syllabuses: Unit 1 - Security for IT Users, Unit 2 - IT User Fundamentals, Unit 3 - Word Processing, Unit 4 - Spreadsheets, Unit 5 - Database Software, Unit 6 - Presentation Software, Unit 7 - Using Email and The Internet.
ECDL Advanced - Level 3
ECDL Advanced consists of 4 modules. Certificates in each application are awarded individually; should you choose to complete all the modules you will be awarded with an additional 'ECDL Expert ' certificate.
Available modules & syllabuses: Module AM3- Word Processing, Module AM4 - Spreadsheets, Module AM5 - Databases and Module AM6 - Presentations.
